Children
grow fast. You’ll wake up one day and your baby is off to
college. This is a good thing. After all the hard work, you’d
be a proud parent, letting your child live on his own and explore
the real world. Yes, this is a proud but sad moment. It’s
is always hard for parents to let go of the child they nurtured.
And no matter how strong you hold on time, you can never bring it
back.
So create moments that will last a lifetime. You will be surprise
how reminiscing their giggles while rolling on the schoolroom carpets
bring immeasurable joy.
1. Include them in choosing their furniture.
Shopping with your kids is difficult. They
keep on pointing at toys and will not stop crying until they get
what they want. But there is always a way to make it a wonderful
experience. You can go to the kid’s furniture center and go
directly to the items you want to purchase. Ask him to choose from
two or three options. He will take pride in choosing it. If you
want him to choose from a pile of school rugs, make sure that the
rugs on those file has the right size for his room. Your child will
feel disappointed if you let him choose and not buy what he picked.
After getting the mat, it will be marked as his choice. And when
he goes to college, you will be reminded of that day when he picked
the School Rug for his room.
2. Keep some of his favorite toys and copies
of his work.
Surely, your child will accumulate tons
of toys as he gets older. Some of these toys will be damaged and
some will be given away. These are the toys that they leave on the
schoolroom carpets after playing; from these toys, you will definitely
find some of his favorites. Clean them and display them where you
can see them. Once your child moves in a different town, his toys
will bring wonderful memories.
It is also great to file some of his works.
It can be his first drawing or the first time he wrote his name
right. These are best reminders of their younger years. When you
get older, you’ll recall the time they spent on the schoolroom
carpets just to finish those.
3. Capture events in videos and photos.
Of course, nothing beats the videos and
photos. Today’s generation is very lucky. The technology available
allows most people to catch almost everything in video and still
images. You can just bring a mobile phone that lets you take motion
and still pictures. You can take it anywhere, like the store where
the pile of schoolroom carpets are. You can take a photo of him
choosing the carpet for his room. You can then upload it to your
computer down to your online photo album where it can be stored
for a very long time.
No one can stop kids from growing and from starting out their own
lives. But you can always have tangible reminders of the good old
times.
